Simply Safe Backup has been written as a replacement for other Windows backup products including the one that comes with Windows for the following reasons:

Other backup products do not offer you strong encryption techniques to keep your data protected, only a password and compression.
Use integrated FTP client to download files from an FTP site to include in your backup.
DVD+R DL double layer media support.

If you choose to write your backup to a hard disc, you cannot split the data files up so you can burn them or move them later.
You cannot send your backup to a remote server. Simply Safe Backup will let you specify an FTP server to send your backup to. It will send each volume of your backup, as it completes that volume, saving you disk space, so you do not have to double the amount of disk space needed during the backup.
Backup to fully qualified UNC path names.
The restore process is friendlier than other products. The restore process has been optimized for selective restores so it can go to specific files quickly, and find them, and restore them.
You cannot write a single backup job to backup unique data. With other backup programs you can do incremental backups and such, but this program will allow you to specify a window of time. For example, you can say, Backup all files changed and modified in the last 72 hours, or 2 weeks, or 1 day, or 12 hours. You can have a continual window of backup.
Also, you can tell it to append the date and time to the file name, so you never write over the same backup.
Other backup programs are too expensive.

CHANGE IN SUPPORT: We understand that backed up data can be very sensitive. If you have a problem with a backup, and we ask you to send us the backup files to analyze what happened, and you not feel you can due to a possible security risk, then we cannot help you. If we ask you to send us the backup logs, and you didn't create one, then we cannot help you. If we ask you to rerun the backup with detailed logging on, and you cannot or will not, then we cannot help you. We will do all we can to fix the issue you may have with our product, but you have to give us the information we need in order to do so.

Simply Safe Backup backs up your files with intelligence. Not everything on your PC needs to be backed up. Simply Safe knows which files should be backed up. For example, it is not necessary to back up your Internet cache. If something happened to your PC, your Internet Explorer cache would simply be recreated and does not need to be backed up. However, your email is important, and Simply Safe does back that up, if you are not on a corporate workgroup.

UPDATING TO THE LATEST VERSION: If you are downloading the software to perform an update, please uninstall the version you have installed, reboot, and then install the new version you downloaded.
